The main objective of this doctoral programme is to carry out innovative, high-quality research that adopts cross-cutting and interdisciplinary approaches to the issues of feminism, women and gender.

The doctoral programme in Gender Studies: Culture, Societies and Policies is coordinated by The Inter-university Women and Gender Institute (iiEDG). The most common entry profile involves holders of a Master's degree in the fields of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. However, students coming from other specialities can also enter. The Academic Committee of the Programme establishes the following additional requirements and criteria:


1. Access from the following Master's degrees:  University Master's degree in Studies of Women, Gender and Citizenship and from Master's degrees belonging to the fields of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences from the participating universities (UB, UAB, UdG, UVIC-UCC, URV). 


2. From other national and international Master's degrees, related to the topic of the Programme and, according to the specificity of the studies of the candidate and the alignment with the research lines of the programme. 


3. For foreign students, an understanding level of Catalan and/or Spanish equivalent to Spanish Diploma (Intermediate level) and B1 (Catalan). 


4. Understanding level equivalent to B1 of some of the most used foreign languages in the field of studies of the programme, particularly English or French.
