These are the stages that doctoral students at the URV must follow throughout their studies:
-
First academic year
Once you have been admitted, you must submit all the documentation with the formal requirements and register.
If you have been conditionally registered, you must submit the documentation with the pending requirements before 30 April. Failure to do so will result in your registration being cancelled and you losing your place.
If the academic committee has assigned you bridging courses, you must pass these during the first year.
You must sign the commitment agreement, which is an essential document for the development of your doctorate. You will receive this via a customised email.
With the guidance of your tutor and the thesis supervisor, you must prepare the research plan and the personal training plan, as well as completing the self-evaluation form on the ethical aspects of your thesis. All these documents must be presented at the annual assessment.
You must take the training activities established by your doctoral programme. You can consult the Doctoral School's Cross-curricular Training Programme, as well as details of the specific training activities on the doctoral programme website and on the Virtual Campus (Moodle).

Each academic year: registration and annual assessment
You must register each academic year. From the second year onwards, registration takes place in the second half of September.
To continue on the programme, you must pass the annual assessment. There are two exam sessions. If you are absent or fail the first one, you must submit all the required information and pass the second one. If you fail the second assessment or do not submit all the required information, you will definitely be withdrawn from the doctoral programme.
During your first academic year, you must submit the research plan, the personal training plan and the self-evaluation form on the ethical aspects of your thesis. You should also submit details of any training activities you have undertaken since the start of your doctorate.
From the second academic year onwards, you must update your research and personal training plans, as well as submit the ethics committee's dictamen, if necessary for your thesis. You must also submit details of any training activities you have completed since your last assessment.
-
Last academic year
Once you have completed your thesis, you must request an external review of the thesis by at least two doctors who are experts in the field, external to the URV. This process does not stop your stay in the doctoral programme.
You can then request to deposit your thesis and, later, defend it.
Finally, you will need to apply for your doctoral degree certificate and pay for it to be issued.

Applications during doctoral studies
While you are doing your doctoral studies, you can request several procedures relating to the modification of personal data, the annulment of registration, switching to part-time studies, requesting an extension to the thesis submission deadline, applying for a temporary leave, etc.
