Resuming doctoral studies (doctoral thesis)

Who: The interested party or the authorized person on presentation of the necessary identification.
Where: At the General Registry of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili or at any of its auxiliary registries, addressed to the secretary's office of the department to which the doctoral programme coordinator is affiliated
When: From 1 Setember 2017 to 31 October 2017 (Stage one of pre-enrolment)
From 1 November 2017 to 28 February 2018 (Stage two of pre-enrolment, paying the charge for registering outside the established time period)

At the latest by 30 November, given that the standard registration period for the first pre-enrolment is from 10 October to 15 December.

Exceptionally, in the case of the second perdiod of pre-enrolment, until March 10, given that the registration period for the second period is until April 4th.


The academic committee of the doctoral programme must base its decision on the content of the application and any factors it may consider relevant. On the basis of this, the academic committee will decide whether or not to accept the application. Likewise, they will ratify, or not, the initial thesis proposal and the thesis supervisor.

  • The academic committee sends to the EPD the original document in which the resolution is stated.
  • The UDR updates the data in the system and sends a copy of the resolution to the interested party, to the thesis tutor and/or the thesis supervisor, to the academic committee and to the Academic Management Service which is the unit in charge of the enrolment.
  • The UDR sends the original document to the Campus Secretariat for Academic Management for keeping this document in the student record.
How: Students must pay the amount of the registration receipt.
