When the Doctoral School has verified that the documentation provided in PDF is correct and that the candidate meets the requirements to access a doctoral program, the documentation is sent to the academic committee to assess the specific admission criteria and requirements in the program. The academic committee may require specific documentation, which must also be submitted to the document manager within the deadline established according to the pre-registration phase.

When the academic committee has resolved the request, the candidate receives an email informing her/him of the result of the process:

You are pre-registered as a candidate to pursue official doctoral studies. The next step, if you have not done it, is to upload the access documentation to the document manager.

The deadline to upload this documentation is up to 10 days after formalizing the pre-registration or, at most, until the end of the corresponding pre-registration period. Here you can consult the schedule.

Validated for admission

You have uploaded the minimum documentation required for the coordinator/academic committee of the doctoral programme to evaluate your application.

Admitted academically

The coordinator/academic committee of the doctoral programme has approved your application and admitted you to the programme. You now have a place reserved for the doctoral programme

If you need it, we can provide you with an admission letter to apply for a grant or a student visa.

You will shortly receive an email informing you of the decision and the steps to follow.

Admitted academically, with bridging courses

The coordinator/academic committee of the doctoral programme has approved your application and admitted you to the programme. You now have a place reserved for the programme.

In view of your prior education, the coordinator/academic committee has decided that, during the first academic year, you must study some subjects as bridging courses to successfully pursue the doctoral programme. You can find the bridging courses in the Access and Admission section of the doctoral programme.

If you need it, we can provide you with an admission letter to apply for a grant or a student visa.

Admitted pending of requirements of documentation

You have been admitted academically to the doctoral programme but you have to provide proof of a formal documentation requirement (legalisation or official translation into Spanish/Catalan/English, if needed). When you provide this proof, you may register.

Admitted with bridging courses, pending of requirements of documentation

You have been admitted academically to the doctoral programme but you have to provide proof of a formal documentation requirement (legalisation or official translation into Spanish/Catalan/English, if needed). When you provide this proof, you may register.

Admitted pending of proof of the degree diploma/certification

At the time of pre-registration, you must have completed the application process for the issuance of the degree that gives access to doctoral estudies and you must prove that this degree is being issued.

You will receive an email informing you of the decision and the steps to follow.

You must replace your provisional degree certificate by your final degree diploma/certification as soon as it is issued

Admitted pending of original documents

You have been admitted academically to the doctoral programme but you must submit the original documents. When you present the original documents, you may register.

Admitted with bridging courses, pending of originals

Because it has been determined that you must obtain bridging course credits, we recommend that you contact the coordinator of the doctoral programme before registering within the set period. Conditional access to registration

You have been admitted academically to the doctoral programme and you may register but you still have to meet an entrance documentation requirement (original documents, legalisation or official translation into Spanish/Catalan/English, if required).

In view of your interest in registering, you have submitted a document named "Declaration of commitment", signed by you and by the coordinator of the doctoral programme, in which you agree to submit the missing documents before an established deadline. If you do not fulfil your commitment on this date, the registration will be cancelled without refund of the amounts paid.

Conditional access to registration, with bridging courses

You have been admitted academically to the doctoral programme and you may register but you still have to meet an entrance documentation requirement (original documents, legalisation or official translation into Spanish/Catalan/English, if required).

Waiting list

The coordinator/academic committee of the doctoral programme has approved your application and you have been admitted academically. In addition, you have provided all the necessary documents but at present there are no places available on the programme.

If a place becomes available, you will receive an email with information on how to register.

Technically excluded

As you have not submitted the minimum documentation required to be able to be assessed by the Coordination / Academic Committee or, after being admitted, you have not fulfilled the formal requirements of the documentation within registration period, your application has been technically excluded.

You will receive an email with information about the reason why you were not admitted and the procedure for appealing if you disagree with this decision.

If you are still interested in pursuing this or another doctoral programme, you must pre-register again in accordance with the schedule.

Academically excluded

The coordinator/academic committee has assessed your application academically and decided not to admit you.
